The Validity Of Our Sacraments
Our Lineage
In matters of administration, procedure and discipline, Old Catholic Gnostics differ from the other Catholic Churches:
We believe Scripture and Prayer are to create an experiential relationship with God.
We acknowledge the Gnostic Texts, not as Cannon, but as inspired writings given to clarify or amplify all excepted Catholic Scripture and Theology.
We do not require Cerical celibicy.
We are smaller in size and follow an Ignatian Model of Church.
The local Bishop determines the liturgical expression and has discretion in ordaining persons regardless of sex.
We do not believe in Papal infallibility but we extend respect to the Roman Catholic Holy Father.
Old Catholic Gnostics may remarry within the Church.
Contraception is a matter of personal conscience.
Old Catholic Gnostic Communities are usually inclusive by nature, regarding gender, sexual orientation, polity, ethnicity or disability as non-issues.
Sin is Sin, we all fall short of the Glory of God. "But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Much more surely then, now that we have been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life". Romans 5:8-10
Old Catholic Gnostic theology recognizes that the Church's teaching magisterium has two objectives: the formation of conscience and the nurturing of a formed conscience to full maturity.
